Reasonable Symptoms and Concerns for Global Warming & Climate Change:
Sudden relocation of Buried Carbon from the earth in the last century in the form of Oil arising from:
Inefficient Transport, Unnecessary Transport
Inefficient heating (poor insulation)
Inefficient cooling (Increased air-conditioning in all countries, especially Asian countries, possibly outweigh energy used per capita for transport?)
Misc including: industry (smelting etc); Use of plastics, tar, oils.
Economic imperatives -- taxation and governance of transport has become interwoven with oil.
Naturally occurring climate change.
"Climate change is a constant. The Vostok Ice Cores show five brief interglacial periods from 415,000 years ago to the present. The Greenland Ice Cores reveal a Minoan Warm Period 1450-1300 BC, a Roman Warm Period 250-0 BC, the Mediaeval Warm Period 800-1100AD, the Little Ice Age and the late 20th Century Warm Period 1900-2010 AD." -- Ref: The Lavoisier Group (Climate change sceptics, Ray Evans, http://www.lavoisier.com.au )
Anecdotal evidence: The Romans grew vines in the UK so it was once warmer. See also http://www.abd.org.uk/pr/522.htm
Consequences of Climate Change:
Increased suffering amongst poor nations in hot countries simply from excessive heat (not currently noted or acted upon), drought, flood (in short, environmental change).
Thermal Expansion contributing to current and forecast sea level rises of 2 to 3mm a year - This apparently accounts for a 12-15cm rise already in the 20th century (Ref p2, "Sea-Level Rise and Coastal Subsidence: Causes, Consequences, and Strategies By John D. Milliman, Bilal U. Haq")
Environment damage especially by erosion and marine environment changes.
Air pollution.
Reasonable Remedies:
Improving efficiency by diligent and gradual application of tax as a standard governing mechanism (not the hysterical, prejudiced and punitive approaches being taken currently).
Burying plant matter to reverse oil combustion: Burying plants before they decay will restore the minor imbalance being caused by relocating carbon (in the form of oil) into the earth's atmosphere. This is the safest and simplest way of removing CO2 (and leaving the oxygen with us) without side effects (although study is required into the impact of any significant accompanying loss of nutrients - but any fool can see it's better than burying CO2 under the sea and thus accidentally removing the oxygen - See Injudicious CO2 Removal further on). The number of tons buried equates almost precisely to the number of tons of Carbon removed from the atmosphere.
Awaiting the reversal of Natural Climate Change from natures self levelling tendencies such as increased cloud cover (see latter Rain Relocation). Major volcanic eruptions will also reduce temperatures naturally by stratospheric changes# *1 *2. Volcanic eruptions may increase if the sea volume changes due to Displacement.
